Romania: Mandatory Bilingual Contracts (Order 655/2026)
The Romanian authorities have tightened the requirements for D/AS work visas. Under new regulations, any employment contract between a Romanian company and a non-EU citizen must be drafted in a bilingual format.
Requirements for 2026:
- Format: The contract must consist of two columns: one in Romanian and one in the worker's native language (or English if agreed upon).
- Verification: Consulates in Dhaka, New Delhi, and Islamabad will strictly verify these contracts before issuing visas.
- Objective: To ensure that every worker fully understands their working conditions, salary (which must match the national minimum), and working hours.
Massive Dynamic has already updated all partner templates to this format. For applicants from Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan, this ensures a much higher visa approval rate and prevents legal issues upon arrival in Romania.
