- Digitalisation: The launch of the WorkinRomania.gov.ro platform (expected August 8, 2026) will become the single point of entry for all work permit and long-stay visa applications.
- Unified Visa Categories: Introduction of D/AM1 (High-skilled/Special categories) and D/AM2 (General employment based on shortage lists).
- Employer Accountability: Employers must now be "Registered" or "Authorized" within the platform, ensuring higher standards for foreign worker protection.
